Kansas Farewell

Ben and I made a trip to Kansas last weekend to attend funeral services for Ben's uncle, Lowell Sawyer. Uncle Lowell was born on a farm near McPherson, Kansas, and he died while driving a truckload of corn about a mile away from his birthplace. Between those two points stands the Groveland Christian Church, which was at the center of his life, both literally and figuratively speaking. Many of Ben's cousins and other extended family still live and farm in that area. Uncle Lowell's passing leaves a void in his community, his church, and in the hearts of his family, but his faith in Christ reassures us of his eternal home. This picture shows Ben with his brother and their first cousins who were at the services.
