Goodbye, Painters

Well, we've had enough (for now, at least). We finally got tired of having the house in such a mess for such a long time and told Jim and his helpers to move on to other jobs. I'll call him back when we go skiing in a few months and let him finish the inside of the house while we're gone! So here are a few shots of our "new" house, which is what it feels like after so many years of neglect!
That's the wall of the den before painting; you can clearly see the outline of where things were hung. Here's the same wall after 3 coats of paint.

The fireplace is painted now, instead of natural brick.
The kitchen looks beautiful with light blue/green walls (the color name is actually sevres blue) and dark teal & white tiles to complement the new countertop. The final step for the kitchen will be replacing this (hideous!!!!) harvest gold oven. Here are two views of Ben's office. The three bookcases used to be in our bedroom, but now our room is uncharacteristically spacious.
