Dog vs. Painter

Houdini made a visit to our house today, disguised as Ginger. Jim is painting in the den, using oil-based paint, so we had blocked off the doorway between the kitchen and den and closed the door to the dining room, and Ginger was in the kitchen. Well, you need to know that Ginger is inexplicably terrified of the "scary door" between the kitchen and dining room, so when Jim took a break and came through the door to get some ice, Ginger went berserk trying to escape.
She squeezed between the end table and the vertical card table, then made a 180 degree turn, jumping over the bucket and brushing her right side against the freshly painted door frame, then she headed out the porch door, brushing her left side against another freshly painted door frame, leaving a trail of fuzzy paint behind and creating "racing stripes" down her sides.

I tried brushing her to get rid of the paint, but since she had just had a bath three days ago, there wasn't much hair that was ready to come out. I guess we'll just wait and let nature take its course.

I'll sure be glad (and I imagine that Ginger agrees) when this painting project is finished!
