I know it's been a while since I updated. Ben and I spent several days helping out at church with the "Shoes for Orphan Souls" project. Our church family donated over 10,000 pairs of shoes, which will be distributed to orphanages all over the world through the Buckner agency (www.buckner.org). Believe me, 10,000 pairs of shoes take up a lot of space! We had to remove each pair from its box, cut off all tags, take the paper out of the toes (this leads to sore fingers!), and attach each shoe to its mate, then pack them into cartons for shipping. To get an idea of the scope of the project, visit www.smbc.org and click on the Missions tab, select "Missions That Meet Needs," then select "Shoes for Orphan Souls."
I flew to Nashville on the 31st and helped Robyn move (again!) to a larger apartment in the same complex where she's lived since April. She has a new roommate who moved in this past weekend, so her monthly expenses have decreased significantly! Now I'm back home in Houston and settling into a somewhat regular schedule for the fall.

What a great project! And, you should tell Robyn there's a limit on how many times you're going to move the same boxes. :)
