We're getting ready to leave for Utah to ski for a few days, and here in Houston, spring has definitely set in. The first week of March is always "Azalea Trail" week, because the azaleas seem to have an inner clock that sets them blooming just in time for early March viewing. Even the ones in my front yard, which are for the most part neglected, started blooming this week. We haven't had much rain this year, so it really surprised me to see such lovely blooms.
This is a picture of Robyn & Theresa the night of their big duo-performance with the Clear Lake Symphony. We went out to dinner at Pappasito's with her parents, and our friends Curt and SuEllen joined us, too. Even Tim came along; the meal was payment for having to sit through the torture of an orchestra concert (well, only half of one; we excused him after the girls finished playing!).
And here's Ginger, hanging out in one of her favorite places, looking out the dining room window and keeping the world safe from intruders and wandering neighborhood dogs! If you look closely, you can see the dog-sweat stains on the drapes. There are some things you just have to let go if you're gonna have a dog!
I've been having some soreness and tenderness in my right elbow for a few months, so I went to the dr. yesterday. He diagnosed medial epicondylitis, or "golfer's elbow." It differs from tennis elbow in that the pain is on the inner side of the elbow instead of the outer side. He told me to wear a wrist brace to immobilize my wrist and to ice the elbow several times a day. After we return from our ski trip, I'll go for physical therapy. Of course I've never golfed in my life, but somehow I think taking up bowling last August could have something to do with it...
