Fun & Games in Salt Lake City

A couple of weeks ago Ellen called and asked if I'd like to come visit her in Salt Lake City. She did have an ulterior motive, since she needed help doing some painting and other fix-it jobs at her house, and she figured I would be somewhat useful in getting stuff done. I agreed to go on the condition that she would let me have a day off to go skiing. The first day we went to three different home improvement stores and got some supplies. Then we started painting:

This is Ellen painting the ceiling, wearing her designer painter's cap to protect her hair (otherwise known as white cotton undies).
Ellen's pets have their favorite places to hang out---Roo the cat likes to sit on top of the computer monitor, and sometimes Crybaby joins him.

When we covered up the computer during the painting process, Roo was not too happy. He was determined to reclaim his throne:
Violet, on the other hand, likes to burrow under blankets, so she found herself a cozy spot:
But all in all, the best place any of the pets can possibly be is all together on top of Ellen!
True to her promise, Ellen did let me go skiing. I spent a day at Brighton Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon and stayed upright the whole day, except for the one time that a lady on a snowboard ran into me, knocking both of us down!

Sounds like you're having fun! Now we see where Brooke gets her love of panty hats!
