Progress in the Kitchen

The kitchen is looking better all the time! Monday the tile craftsmen came to work, and they got the project laid out and started, but the same storms that disrupted Robyn's travel made it impossible for them to continue. They needed a dry work area for the wet saw (go figure), and our garage was/is too full of stuff to make room for them. So they got the splashback over the stove top done and packed up for the day. Lucky for us, Tuesday was a drier day, so they came back and finished up:

Here's a view of the pass-through bar that juts into the den. Bear in mind that the brown wood paneling will be painted white in the next round of painting.

Now our friend Jim is working on the really smelly part of the project--he's painting all of the cabinets. He's also painting in the master bathroom, and he's already finished the hall bath. We have yet to tackle the den, our bedroom, and Robyn's room, but they'll all get fresh coats of paint before we're done. And when we're finished, you'll all have to come visit and see it up close!

Looking good! What color is that tile? I can't tell if it's blue or green. I had a dream we came to visit your new kitchen last night - we'll have to follow up on that!

We'd love to have you visit! The tile is officially a dark teal color, but you can call it green....
